Hunting & Fishing
Weyburn and the surrounding area are the ideal stop for your next hunting and fishing get away. From world-class walleye fishing to unbeatable upland game, waterfowl, and big game Southeast Saskatchewan has everything you need for an exceptional outdoors adventure.
Hunting
Some of the finest upland hunting can be found just south of Weyburn. Hunters from across North America travel to the region to hunt Hungarian Partridge and Sharptail Grouse. As well, come late fall, Weyburn is home to a very healthy population of waterfowl. Canadian residents can find exceptional big game opportunities including white tail, deer, moose and elk.

Fishing
Nickle Lake is only five minutes east of Weyburn on Highway #39. Nickle Lake has walleye, perch and northern pike and periodically stocked. During the summer months (May – Sept) a fish cleaning area is supplied, there is two boat launch areas and a floating dock for loading and unloading passengers. For those wishing to enjoy Nickle Lake during the off season when the park is closed/gates are locked – People can enjoy ice fishing, quadding etc on the lake with access south of the park turnoff. NLRP would like to remind people to be safe, watch their surroundings, check the ice, and be respectful. They also ask that people refrain from quadding and ski-doing within the park as it can cause damage.
Rafferty Reservoir is Prize Walleye and big pike await on the over 55 km of pristine fishing awaits on the Rafferty Reservoir, half an hour east of Weyburn. For anglers and recreational boaters, the boat launch facility at Mainprize Regional Park provides access to the Rafferty Reservoir.
